There are a lot of people in this world that wish to capitalize on the desperation of others. The internet seems to be a breeding ground for such characters, hiding behind anonymous websites and email addresses. When thinking about making money on the internet, you should be very – very cautious.
This domain’s history may very well serve to represent such schemes. Whether or not the previous owner was a legitimate business man or not, there certainly seems to have been quite a bit of commotion surrounding this website for a short time, and the previous owner has since abandoned it. This post is certainly not to bash that person as an individual, because I certainly don’t know them.
There are some good resources available for learning how to make an honest income online, however keep in mind that it’s not as easy as some would purport it to be.
It Takes Brains
Not just any brain mind you, but one that can multitask and understand many different aspects of the business at once. If one is interested in making money online, they will need a minimum of the following skills: graphic design, basic html coding, understanding the basics of how the web functions, understanding how to build links and get exposure without spamming, many different software applications to learn, and finally… sales and marketing experience.
It Takes Ethics
There are millions – probably a billion websites that have come and gone that were built with the intention of making a quick buck. If you’re going to succeed in this business for any length of time, you’re going to have to have the mindset of wanting to help people. You certainly will have no return customers or anyone to bookmark your site for future reference, if you don’t offer a real solution for the problem that they’re seeking a solution for.
How to Spot “Make Money Online Scams”
Contrary to popular belief, most business opportunity scams on the internet don’t arise from people that are out to outright take advantage of people (which may or may have not been the case with the previous owner of this domain). They usually are the result rather, of people that are ignorant and are trying to imitate others that they don’t realize are actually blowing smoke up not only their rears, but everyone elses. So the bull starts out usually with people that buy online ebooks about making money on the internet that tell them how to do the same thing that they just did – sell ebooks about making money online, lol.
Let’s analyze a short sales page where the wannabe “internet marketer” is trying to get you on their “list” (email)…
“My Underground Marketing Secrets Reveal The Formula Behind Making A Monthly 6 Figure Income Selling Any ANY Product!”
Yeah – ok.
It’s all underground and there’s a “secret formula”.
Yeah, right.
The only secret formula to making a six figure income with any product is having enough customers.
The page continues…
“The Rules Of Internet Marketing Have Changed! If You Want To Build A Profitable Business, You Need These New Strategies Before Your Competition”
The rules have changed?
I didn’t know there were any rules in marketing except for making sure that you obey the law and don’t give people unrealistic expectations of a product, which in this case the author is definitely doing.
If you want to build a profitable business online, you need to build a stable business online. That involves building stable websites that are promoted through legitimate techniques – not through hyped up sales pages.
Let’s look at some more…
“Marketing Secrets Exposed! You have just come to one of the most valuable sites you will find on the internet.I am sharing Marketing Secrets For FREE!”
Oh, geez… thanks.
“I am sharing some of my Marketing Secrets so I can help others create the kind of life they choose to live. I want to live the life I love! There is not a special button that you can push to be successful online. All of the information on this web site is what it takes to become a success on the internet. There are no shortcuts!”
The author knows the first line is bull and knows that you aren’t going to fall for the hype that his info product is going to solve all your problems and give you the live you choose to live, so he takes a few steps back and tells you that there is no magic button.
REALLY? I thought there was, lol.
“Open your mind to the world of marketing. This site is a mini-course in marketing. Take this free information and use it! I also offer Personal Coaching and you can find out more about that by clicking on the link above .”
Using the phrase, “open your mind” is because he knows you don’t believe what you’re reading and is a post-hypnotic suggestion according to what I read years ago about NLP copywriting – a lot of these wannabe internet gurus study that crap so that they can be more “persuasive”… Ok.. yeah it’s starting to work, lol.
“This site is a mini-course in marketing”… OH, so this big underground secret deal is a “mini-course”. OH, thanks for clarifying. Better yet – haha, it’s free! Wow. You mean I get all the underground secrets before my competition does and it’s free information? Wow. Better jump on board before they get it for free, too!!!
“Clicking the link above” – OH, now you tell me what you REALLY want me to do. Why didn’t you just ask politely?
Next comes the scarcity/fear tactic.
“If you do not implement the tools on this web site you will never become successful online, it is that simple! These are the same tools that every so called internet GURU uses to Make Money Online!.”
What a contradiction. First, these “tools” are required to be successful – AND they’re used by every “so called internet GURU”.
Geez. I better use these tools so I can be a “so called internet GURU”.
The real “so called internet GURU” is the one pitching this garb, lol.
Folks, if you’ve spent any time around the internet looking at sales pages for info products that promise to change your life and make your world a better place if you just pay X dollars, you’re going to read plenty of garbage like that.
See it for what it is, what the writer is trying to do to get you to take action and in 99.999999999999999999% of cases, just use your back button.
